In memory of Sylvia Reiter

It is with much sadness that we advise all members of the Port Fairy Rotary Club of the recent passing of former member and Rotarian, Sylvia Reiter.

 

Sylvia, aged 76 at the time of her passing, was a member of our Rotary Club until October 2012 when, due to failing health, she found it difficult to regularly attend meetings.  Nevertheless, she kept contact with many of our members and she was always a welcome sight at the Community markets in Port Fairy as she drove her "gopher" around the stalls meeting and greeting her many friends.

 

I last caught up with Sylvia at such a market back in January this year and she spoke enthusiastically about her recent travels -  never one to allow her confinement to a gopher stop her getting in her bus and travelling the country.

 

A funeral service for Sylvia will be held at the St. Andrews, Port Fairy Presbyterian Church in William Street at 11am on Wednesday 1st March.

 

The Rotary Club extends its condolences to Sylvia's extended family.
