Bernie Waixel awarded a Paul Harris Fellowship
In recognition of the contribution he has made to Rotary at large and to the Rotary Club of Port Fairy, Bernie Waixel was bestowed with a Paul Harris Fellowship at the Club's meeting on 6th February 2012.
The award was presented by fellow Paul Harris Fellow and former President, Alan Rasmussen.
This means that the Club now has three, active Paul Harris Fellows as Bernie joins Alan and Col Martin in being honoured for this most prestigious of Rotary awards. Col was invited to put the PFH medal on Bernie during the presentation.
Before Bernie's award, the Rotary Club of Port Fairy had only presented nine other Paul Harris Fellowships during its 50 years since charter. This alone indicates that such a prestigious award is only handed out to a deserving few and signifies just how important a contribution that Paul Harris Fellows make to Rotary life.
