Port Fairy SES found a good use for sand bags left over from last October's flood in the town. Donated to the Cockatoo Rise Veterans Retreat, they will be put to good use as part of the Retreat's memorial. The Macarthur retreat was established by Vietnam veteran Greg Carter and welcomes ex and serving defence personnel and their partners. Port Fairy Rotarians helped Greg load up the sand bags for the move from the SES out to Macarthur.
