The Rotary Club of Port Fairy has almost finalised its beautification project in the vicinity of the footbridge across the Moyne River in Port Fairy.
This has been an on-going landscaping project, spread over some 18 months, which started by weeding and mulching the garden beds between bridge and Gipps Street, before planting new plants. Thankfully, the new plants are now taking hold.
We are now part way through the landscaping at the foot of the stairs next to the river with new plants to go in soon.
To celebrate this project, a new sign has been installed which acknowledges the contributions by the Port Fairy & District Community Bank, Moyne Shire Council and the Codrington Nursery.
A small working bee of Michael Crowe, John Ellard, Marea Ellard and Bill Moore put the new sign into the ground this week.
The Rotary Club is grateful to the Port Fairy Men's Shed for their help in constructing the frame for the sign.
