Jill Gleeson has stepped up to be the President of the Rotary Club of Port Fairy for 2021/22.  This is Jill's second term as President since joining the Club in 2007.  Jill was inducted by 9780 District Governor Phil Beasley at a well-attended Changeover dinner held in Port Fairy on 21 June.  She takes over from outgoing President Tony Bawden who skilfully steered the Club through the difficult times of the COVID-19 pandemic during 2020/21.

After her induction, Jill spoke of her plans for the coming year.  She nominated  the Environment as her priority area for attention during her Presidential year. This issue is a new area of focus for the wider Rotary organisation. Her new Board reflects this with the appointment for the first time of an Environment Director.  She acknowledged the importance of support from all the Club and noted the challenges for the time ahead, particularly the potential effect of COVID -9 restrictions on fund raising.
