The Rotary Club of Port Fairy held a very successful Open Garden's Day in December where $4,285 was raised for Interplast.

In all, six gardens were on display on 16th December 2013 and the Rotary Club is very grateful for the support of who opened their gardens on the day.

The six, Port Fairy gardens on display were:

  1. Jill & Darryl Edwards
  2. Colin Cleary & Sandra Jans
  3. Kathryn Weatherly and Ian Risbey
  4. Carole & Tony Goodes
  5. Margaret & Arthur Banks
  6. Ron and Dot Cashmore

The feedback from the general public that attended the gardens (charged at $20 for the six gardens) was most positive and it is likely that, based on the success of the event, this will become an annual activity.

The day was organised by President, Hester Woodrup, as part of her presidential initiative for 2013/14 to raise funds for Interplast. All monies raised will be donated to Interplast -a humanitarian organisation that provide medical and reconstructive surgery in third world countries.

Refreshments were provided on the day at Ron & Dot Cashmore's garden and the day ended with the drawing of a raffle for prizes of a garden seat donated by Brooke's Timber & Hardware and a painting by Wilma Preston.
