Dear Rotarians,

This is my last newsletter as I wind down my year as President.

The year has been busy for Rotarians and we should be proud of our achievements in fund raising and service to the community.  I thank everyone for their efforts.

The High Tea and grocery raffle raised $1200 allowing us to purchase the Shelter Box to be used when required around the globe.

Last weekend members manned the Lighthouse to allow a public opening as part of the Winter Weekend program.  This was really appreciated by a large number of people and raised $600.  This shows how iconic and popular the Lighthouse remains.

Last meeting we engaged with the local school children who visited our club and delighted us with their performances.  This interaction if important for Rotary and I hope we continue with this type of community contact.

Also when you are next in Warrnambool drive past the Rotary House site and see how work is progressing. With the announcement of a cancer treatment centre for Warrnambool, the accommodation should be guaranteed greater use.

In the next few weeks members will attend changeover dinners around the zone.  Use this time to reflect on the great work done by Rotary around the district.

I wish Hester well for the coming year and know you will give her your support.

President
