Hello Rotarians,

Easter is almost upon us again and we are busy planning future events for the next few months. Recently Margaret Whitehead and myself attended the District 9520 conference in Warrnambool, manning the RDU stand.

By all the reports the conference went very well and while selling Rotary products, we met some lovely Rotarians enjoying visiting Warrnambool and district.

A lot of our members were involved with Woody's Murray to Moyne cycling event and Moyne Health Services appreciate the time and efforts of everyone who helped out. The BBQ on the Sunday morning was very well patronised and thank you to our members who attended.

Again this year, we are assisting with the collection of monies for the Royal Children's Hospital Appeal on Good Friday. If you can help for a few hours please put your name down. Also at Easter we will have the Port Fairy Lighthouse open on Saturday and Sunday. Lighthouse openings have been a successful fundraiser for us in the past and add your name to the list if you can help.

We have had some good guest speakers at our dinners over the next month or so and are planning more. On April 28th Mr Ian Holten will speak on behalf of Interplast and we can proudly present him with a sizable cheque. This dinner will be a partners evening and we have invited other guests as well.

Coming up in May we are having a progressive  dinner to raise funds for Muscular Dystrophy, a debilitating disease which our regular visitor attendee Barb Eldridge suffers. A representative from this organisation will attend a dinner meeting and speak on latest developments and we will present a donation towards the cause. Also coming back to the club will be James Mclean our RYLA candidate, to speak of his experiences at the conference. I know he was looking forward to going and he should give us a good account.

Our Rotary Club is looking for a student interested in  going to Canberra,to learn about the workings of Government. This is a RAIC (Rotary Adventure Citizenship project), funding a student for $1000. This is a excellent community project for our club and hopefully a suitable student will accept the offer. I wish all our members a Happy Easter break and look forward to a busy time in the next few months.
