Hello Rotarians, As 2014 flies past quickly we can reflect on our busy calendar of the past few months. Guest Speaker, Ian Holten, gave us a wonderful presentation on the many aspects of Interplast. From corrective surgery, training people on site and the respect of cultures within each country, we learnt of the  great work being done overseas.

The garden owners who opened up their gardens for our Open Garden Day last year, were invited guests and were thrilled to learn of the actitives of Interplast and how their hard work of preparing their gardens for show, and the funds subsequently raised, resulted in our being able to present a cheque to Mr Holten for $4000 towards Interplast.

Last Saturday our very successful Progressive Dinner evening raised monies for Muscular Dystrophy Australia (MDA) and I am looking forward to presenting a $1,000 cheque to Executive Director of MDA, Boris Struk, after his talk at our meeting on 19th May. The Progressive Dinner evening was a night where club members could enjoy socialising in a relaxed manner and raise funds of this worthy cause. Thank you to everyone who contributed in any way to make this night successful.

We have several working bees happening in the near future, tree planting being one. Please add your name to he list if you can help out.  We are also hosting some international Rotarians who play golf when they visit Port Fairy later this month. They will be here on May 25th to enjoy Port Fairy's beautiful course. Bernie Waxiel will be host and lunch at the Golf Club with the overseas and local golfing Rotarians.

July 7th is our Changeover Dinner where John Clue will be installed as our new president. John is full energy and he and his new team will do very well. There are many districts Changeovers happening so look to see if you can attend any of the dinners .It is a good chance to network, learn of new ideas and meet other Rotarians.

Our secretary Margaret Whitehead, had the misfortune to fall resulting in a broken right arm. She has been somewhat hampered and we wish her a speedy recovery. Thank you to club members who have helped fill the gap at meetings.

Thank you.

Hester Woodrup - President
