The Rotary Club of Port Fairy's project to enhance the walkway to the Moyne River walking bridge - between Gipps Street and the bridge - came to fruition last Tuesday, 23rd April when a small gang of willing volunteers completed Stage 1 of the project. This involved laying down mulch and planting over 300 small shrubs in the garden beds each side of the walkway.
The Port Fairy & District Community Bank is partnering the Rotary Club of Port Fairy in this significant project, with the support of Moyne Shire Council and local historian, Marten Syme. The work done should beautify a space that has previously been neglected and we now wait for the plants to take hold and flourish.
A special thank you to Ewan and Trish Roberts at the Codrington Nursery for donating the plants to the project.
