Moyneyana House has a brand new piano thanks to the Rotary Club of Port Fairy. The piano was handed over on 20 December by President Sue Robertson at a concert for Moyneyana residents held to mark the occasion.  Several pianists displayed their musical talent and gave the new instrument a solid workout.

Moyne Health Services CEO Jackie Kelly  said that the piano was a great addition to Moyneyana House facilities.

Rotarian David Digby tickles the ivories while Hester Woodrup,
Sue Robertson and Peter Smith look on.

Leisure and Lifestyle Coordinator Robbie Lee said that a number of residents were already playing the new piano and were rediscovering their skills.  She added that music can evoke memories and firm connections among residents.

The piano can be played in silent mode using headphones for players who are practicing.

Among the players at the concert was Heather Powell who played a number of Christmas carols, accompanied by the vocal support of her two granddaughters Harriet and Hannah.
